No fewer than 20 persons were reportedly killed after suspected Niger Delta militants invaded some villages in Imushin, a boundary community between Lagos and Ogun States.
A motorcyclist was said to have been beheaded by the militants, who reportedly started their operation from 10pm on Thursday till the early hours of Friday...
When Punch visited Imushin on Friday, it was observed that many residents were fleeing the community.
The affected villages included Oke Muti, Elepete, Ajegunle, Ola Imam, Ereko junction, Igbo Olomu, Pakisa and Magbon, within the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
All commercial activities were grounded in the communities as schools, churches, mosques were locked.
It was gathered that a total of 18 villages making up Imushin had been deserted.
