Report reaching Naijalabel.com indicates that the Popular MILE One market, which is the biggest single market in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, is up in flames with goods and cash worth several billions of naira burnt down.
According to our eye reporter Jojo Falani, the fire was said to have started in the early hours of the day about 2:30 a.m from an obscure corner of the vast market and as at the time of this report fire fighters are still battling hard to contain the fire and stop it from spreading to the newly built Mile One Market.
Fun seekers returning from the ongoing Port Harcourt Carnival #CARNIRIV were shocked to see the market up in flames
It would be recalled that the market was completely razed down by fire in January 2004, and a new one built and commisioned eight years later May 2012.
