Anti-Amaechi Protesters Rally against him for Joining APC

A massive demonstration is going on right now against Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State in the Capital city, Port Harcourt.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi is one of the Group of 5 PDP governors that joined the All Progressive Congress, APC yesterday

 

 

According to the Governor, the only reason why he joined the APC is to protect the interest of Rivers people. Governor Amaechi also said he joined the APC because President Goodluck Jonathan failed to address issues raised by the G7 governors.

Chibuike.R. Amaechi in his own words:

"The decision we took to join APC is for the good, the survival  of our democracy and to ensure that Nigeria moves forward.

"I joined APC to protect Rivers interests. I have no personal quarrel with President Jonathan .and his office but ultimately, I was elected and have the responsibility to lead Rivers State, to lead Rivers people and protect its interests and its important we put that in perspective.

"When he fell ill in London recently, I was on twitter praying for him and wished him well. He's my President and I respect him.

...And the interests of Rivers people are not protected in PDP. For instance, we are losing our oil wells in  Etche......continue to lose our wealth. And this is just one example...
